Himachal CM Cancels Banjar Visit, Convenes Emergency Meeting; War-like Mock Drill Scheduled in Shimla
Shimla, May 7:
In the wake of the Indian Air Force’s targeted strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan, security across the country has been placed on high alert. Responding to the evolving situation, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has cancelled his scheduled visit to Banjar and convened an emergency meeting at the State Secretariat.
The Chief Minister will review the state’s law and order situation and preparedness in coordination with senior officials and security agencies. The meeting will focus on strengthening vigilance in sensitive areas and outlining response strategies for potential emergencies.
As part of these precautionary measures, a war-preparedness mock drill will be conducted this evening in Shimla district. This will be the only such drill held in the state and is aimed at testing rapid response capabilities during conflict-like or disaster scenarios.
