Shimla, Feb 23: A significant meeting of New Pension Scheme Employees Federation was organized on Sunday. Many commitments were made to restore old pension and oppose Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) work was done in this direction during this. State president Pradeep Thakur presided over the meeting. He also observed that the Federation will step up its battle for restoring old pension (OPS).

In this, a detailed discussion was held on returning 12 thousand crores from NSDL and further strategy was discussed regarding this. During the meeting, the need to reinstate the old pension scheme for the left out employees was also stressed. Pradeep Thakur said that revolution will be carried out towards the restoration of old pension in case of those employees working in Electricity Board, District Council and other departments who are still deprived of it.

The Federation said both NPS and UPS both are not in the interest of the employees and that these systems are lethal for the future of teachers, employees and officers of the country. The meeting also prepared a strategy for the movements against the Unified Pension Scheme in the future.” The federation has decided to conduct district level meetings in the month of March as the same shall make the federation more strong.

Meanwhile, employees will submit memorandums in the MP area in their respective areas and letter will be sent to the Prime Minister for restoration of old pension. Besides this, it was decided to observe Black Day throughout the country on April 1, under which the employees will protest wearing black bands and memorandum will be submitted to the Prime Minister through the district officials.

The federation has called a massive demonstration at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on International Labor Day, May 1. General Secretary Bharat Sharma appealed to all the employees that they should participate in these movements in maximum numbers. This is a struggle for the current workforce as well as the stable future of generations to come, he stated. So we need everyone to come together in this fight.”
