Shimla, February 01: The weather is expected to remain clear in Himachal Pradesh for the next two days. But due to the activation of Western Disturbance from the night of February 3, the weather in the state may change again on February 4 and 5. During this time, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall. This may further increase the cold wave in the high altitude areas of the state. However, after this, the weather is likely to clear again on February 6 and 7.
On Saturday, the hilly areas of Himachal remained cloudy and cold winds blew at some places. Due to this, a drop in temperature is being recorded. At the same time, clouds and sunshine are playing hide and seek in the plains as well. Cold wave prevails across the state and a continuous drop in minimum temperature is being seen.
Bone-chilling cold in tribal districts
There is severe cold in the high altitude areas and tribal districts of Himachal. Districts like Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur are in the grip of severe cold. Today, the minimum temperature in Tabo of Lahaul-Spiti was recorded at -7.5 degrees, Kumkum Seri at -5.2 degrees and Keylong at -2.2 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the mercury was also recorded at -2.4 degrees in Kalpa of Kinnaur district.
The cold is also increasing continuously in the capital Shimla. For the last few days, the temperature in Shimla has been falling and the effect of cold has increased. Today, the minimum temperature of Shimla was recorded at 3.2 degrees Celsius, which is 0.3 degrees below normal. The special thing is that the nights of Shimla have now become colder than Manali. The minimum temperature of Manali was recorded at 7.3 degrees Celsius today, which was more than Shimla.
Meanwhile, due to lack of rain in the state for a long time, the concern of farmers and gardeners has increased. Especially in the plains, there has been no rain for many days. Due to this, the wheat crop is in danger. If it does not rain soon, the chances of drying of the crop will increase.
Similarly, due to lack of sufficient snowfall in the hilly areas this time, the apple crop may also be damaged. Sufficient snowfall is necessary for better production of apples. But this time the expected amount of snowfall has not happened yet. The indifference of the weather has increased the concern of the gardeners.
