Himachal Police Families to Benefit from Enhanced Insurance Coverage, Including Air Ambulance and Education Support
Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], January 10 (Diary Times): Himachal Pradesh Police personnel and their families are set to enjoy improved financial protection following a revised agreement between the Himachal Police and the State Bank of India (SBI). Under the new terms, the insurance coverage for accidental death has been significantly increased from ₹50 lakh to ₹1 crore, offering greater security to the officers and their loved ones.
In the event of air accidents, the insurance coverage has been boosted from ₹1 crore to ₹1.60 crore. Furthermore, the insurance for permanent disability resulting from accidents has been enhanced to ₹1 crore, up from ₹50 lakh. Additionally, the group term life insurance for police personnel has seen a significant increase, rising from ₹2 lakh to ₹10 lakh, ensuring more comprehensive support for their families.

The revised welfare benefits introduce several new provisions, including air ambulance coverage of up to ₹10 lakh and financial assistance for children’s education and marriage, with coverage also up to ₹10 lakh. Additionally, police personnel with Platinum and Rhodium accounts will be entitled to free medical checkups, while selected account holders will enjoy a 50% discount on locker facility charges. These enhancements aim to offer comprehensive support and well-being to the police personnel and their families.
