Training on State Disaster Reduction Fund Portal held in Shimla to familiarize stakeholders with new system features

Shimla, November 20: A training programme on State Disaster Reduction Fund Portal developed by Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA) in collaboration with National Informatics Centre (NIC)-Himachal Pradesh was successfully organised here today at Shimla. The main objective of the training programme organised at District Secretariat and NIC offices of districts on hybrid mode was to familiarise various stakeholder departments with the functionality and features of the newly developed portal.

Chairing the training programme, Additional Secretary Education and Project Director State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF) Nishant Thakur said that the portal aims to better manage disaster and ensure transparency and efficiency in disaster mitigation efforts. Access to specific reports of natural disasters such as landslides, floods, avalanches etc. will be ensured through this portal with just one click. He said that from now on all PPRs and DPRs should be ensured to be submitted through the portal and no hard copy will be accepted. He said that the implementing agencies can now monitor the status of their proposals and know the decisions of the committee with just one click.

He said that the stakeholders have to ensure re-submission of all previously approved project proposals on the portal by 30 December 2024 by aligning them with the digital process. During the meeting, Scientist Sanjay Thakur, Scientist Vinod Kumar and Shri Kunal from NIC-HP provided valuable inputs.

The portal will help all stakeholders in selecting satellite based projects, preventing duplication of disaster mitigation projects, preparing detailed reports as per requirement and proper utilization of funds in disaster mitigation projects. 535 officials from Public Works, Jal Shakti, Tourism, Education, Agriculture and other departments and District Disaster Management Authority participated in the workshop.
