Mandi, September 16: In the previous BJP government, as the Leader of Opposition, I fulfilled every responsibility given by the Congress party and the result of that is that today there is a Congress government in the state. This verbal attack on former CM and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has been done by Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri in his home area.
Let us tell you that on Sunday, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri was present on a one-day tour of Seraj Assembly. During this, while addressing the public meeting in Thunag, he said that today Jairam Thakur is saying that being the Leader of Opposition, he is being deprived of many facilities. But when his government was in the state, he was the Leader of Opposition and he was also not being given many facilities. He also kept struggling for these facilities during the tenure of the BJP government, for which Jairam Thakur is doing today.
Agnihotri said that Jairam Thakur is only his political opponent, he has no personal enmity with him. But the crop that Jairam Thakur had sown while in power, he is reaping the same crop today. This is a democracy and governments keep coming and going here, perhaps Jairam Thakur had forgotten this. He has fulfilled the responsibility of Leader of Opposition given to him by the Congress Party very well and has shown the way out of power to Jairam Thakur’s government.
Earlier, while presiding over the closing ceremony of the three-day Seraj Talent and Tourism Festival in Janjheli, Mukesh Agnihotri said that the culture of the hills is deeply connected to each other. There are many similarities in the culture of Kullu and Mandi district. Dhatu, Topi and Himachali costumes are famous at the national and international level.
The government is trying to send folk cultural groups of Himachal to the country and abroad under cultural exchange programs. He said that efforts are also being made by the Language Culture Department to dedicate a cultural evening to local artists in the big fairs of the state and to spend 50 percent of the amount spent on these programs on local artists.
During his one-day visit, Mukesh Agnihotri presented gifts worth crores of rupees to the people of Seraj. He laid the foundation stone of the lift irrigation scheme Halin and Balendha to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 4.41 crore for Gram Panchayat Lambathach and Road. Apart from this, the Deputy CM also laid the foundation stone of flood control work of Jwal Khad and Bagsyad Nala, on which about Rs 3.24 crore will be spent.
