Shimla, September 13: In the Sanjauli mosque dispute case, stones were pelted on the police forces during a demonstration in Sanjauli two days ago. Many policemen were injured due to this. A video of stone pelting by some protesters in this incident is going viral on social media. In this video, some youths are seen pelting stones in the crowd. It is clearly visible in the 30-second video that seven-eight youths among the protesters picked up stones lying on the roadside and started pelting them in front.

However, the protesters themselves stopped the stone pelting youths from doing so. It is being told that this incident of stone pelting took place at a distance of just 90-100 meters from the disputed mosque site. The youths pelting stones have been captured in the CCTV installed in a shop.

Some police personnel have also been injured due to stone pelting by the protesters. During this, Shimla police also had to resort to lathi charge to control the situation. A large number of protesters broke the barricading in Dhali tunnel and entered Sanjauli market. The protesters violated section 163 imposed by the administration and created ruckus for about five hours.

Shimla police has registered a total of eight FIRs in this protest case. Police is now engaged in finding out the protesters involved in the stone pelting video. Himachal Police DGP Atul Verma has confirmed that six police personnel were injured in this incident. This includes a woman policeman as well.
