Head of Gram Panchayat Shamra under Sirmaur Sangrah subdivision and retired police inspector Chet Singh died at the age of 72 after a long illness. Chet Singh was currently posted as the head of the Panchayat and his death has sent a wave of mourning across the region.

Sangrah, September 13: Head of Gram Panchayat Shamra under Sirmaur Sangrah subdivision and retired police inspector Chet Singh died at the age of 72 after a long illness. Chet Singh was currently posted as the head of the Panchayat and his death has sent a wave of mourning across the region. The people of the area have expressed deep condolences on the death of Chet Singh.

Chureshwar Seva Samiti official Sunil Kamal said that late Chet Singh had retired from the post of inspector in the police department. He was elected as the Panchayat Pradhan due to his honesty and ability. During the Panchayat tenure, he did remarkable work for rural development, which includes many unprecedented works like land reforms of more than 90 percent of the villagers, 100 percent cases of widow pension, social security pension for elderly above 60 years and linking BPL eligibles with housing scheme.

Panchayat Samiti Chairman Tejendra Singh, member Santosh Sharma, former Deputy Pradhan Chandra Singh Kamal, Ramesh Kamal, Vyapar Mandal President Ashok Chauhan, Ramanand of Chureshwar Seva Samiti, Brijbhushan, Shraddhanand Kamal and many other dignitaries expressed deep condolences on the demise of Chet Singh and prayed for the peace of the departed soul. Chet Singh’s contribution to the Panchayat and society will always be remembered. His departure is an irreparable loss for the Panchayat.
