SI Anil Sharma is no more, he was known in Himachal Police for his devotion to duty and flute player
Nahan, 21 August: There is sad news of the demise of Himachal Pradesh Police’s bold sub-inspector Anil Sharma. Anil Sharma, posted in the 6th IRB battalion Dhaula Kuan, had risen from the post of constable to the post of sub-inspector. Before being transferred to the battalion, he was serving in Shimla district.
Late Anil Sharma, originally from Bharog Baneri of Dhartidhar, was also known as an artist in the department. Those who knew him closely say that he was not only an excellent flute player, but also a singer. Recently, he had hummed this song in a retirement party…’Aakhri geet suna loon to chalun’.
Late Sharma was settled with his family near ITI in Nahan. Late Sharma, around 53 years old, was ill for two-three months. He breathed his last at PGI Chandigarh late last night. Although it is not known for sure, it is being said that there was an infection in the liver. Sub Inspector Anil Sharma, who is known for his sociability and dedication, has left behind his wife and three children. One of the two daughters is pursuing BAMS degree in Ayurvedic College Paprola.
A large number of police personnel including Additional Superintendent of Police Parveer Thakur of 6th IRB Battalion had also reached the funeral. A wave of mourning was visible in the 6th IRB battalion throughout the day on Wednesday.
