Solan, August 15: A case of cheating a woman of Rs 40,000 by changing her ATM card has come to light in the Solan city. On Thursday, the complainant lodged a complaint at Sadar Police Station that she withdrew Rs. 1500 from her mother’s ATM card on 13.08.2024 from SBI ATM, Mall Road Solan.

As soon as she came out of the ATM, a boy already present there called her back and said that the slip has not been taken out from the ATM. When she inserted the ATM card in the machine again on the boy’s request, the boy engaged her in conversation and changed her ATM card.

On reaching home, the woman came to know that a message of total withdrawal of Rs 40,000 has come from her mother’s account. On enquiring from the bank, it was found that on August 13, transactions of Rs 10,000, Rs 10,000, and Rs 8,500 were done through ATM card. When She checked her mother’s ATM card, it had the name “Suraj Kumar” written on it. The police have registered a case and started further investigation.
