The deceased have been identified as Lucky Sharma (25) son of Prakash Chand, resident of Bhojpur in Bilaspur and Ishant (23) son of Ram Lal, resident of Arki in Solan. The injured include Rakesh (23) son of Dharam Pal, resident of Arki, Bharat (19) son of Khem, resident of Sunni and Pankaj (19) son of Kuldeep, resident of Nankhari.

Shimla, July 24: Car number HP54C8839 of youths returning from catering work at a wedding ceremony went out of control and fell into a deep ditch. There were five youths in the car. Two youths died in the accident, while three are injured. The injured youths have been referred to IGMC from Rohru Civil Hospital. This tragic accident took place near Koti Nala on Smarkot road in Rohru subdivision at around 2 o’clock on Monday night.

The deceased have been identified as Lucky Sharma (25) son of Prakash Chand, resident of Bhojpur in Bilaspur and Ishant (23) son of Ram Lal, resident of Arki in Solan. The injured include Rakesh (23) son of Dharam Pal, resident of Arki, Bharat (19) son of Khem, resident of Sunni and Pankaj (19) son of Kuldeep, resident of Nankhari. Lucky was driving the car. Some of the victims of the accident were pursuing ITI Diploma and were doing part time catering work.

A young man injured in the car falling into the ditch called the ambulance and informed the police about the accident. The police came to know about the accident a few hours later. After this, relief and rescue work was started by reaching the spot. Two young men were found dead at the spot. On learning about the accident, there was chaos in the house of the relatives of the deceased.

Confirming the accident, DSP Ravindra Negi said that a case has been registered and the causes of the accident are being investigated. Both the bodies have been handed over to the relatives after post-mortem. The condition of the injured is out of danger.
