Five accused of drug trafficking were arrested at midnight during a raid at a private house in Chaupal town

Shimla, June 16: In the Chaupal town of Upper Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, teams of the Chaupal Police Station seized a huge quantity of drugs and also arrested five people on charges of drug trafficking.
The Chaupal police recovered 38 bottles of the narcotic and banned drug Kedzerex from the smugglers.
On receiving a secret information about drug smuggling, the Chaupal Police raided a private house in Chaupal town at midnight and arrested all the accused.
To avoid the suspicion of the Chaupal Police, the accused were carrying out drug smuggling in a rented room in a private building.
The accused arrested by the Chaupal police include 25-year-old Chirag and 25-year-old Nishant, residents of Nerwa, 31-year-old Rakesh, 34-year-old Gulshan and 25-year-old Pawan, resident of Kupvi.
DSP Chaupal Sushant Sharma said that a case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act in Chaupal police station and further action has been initiated. He said that all the five drug smugglers caught are young.
The DSP appealed the parents to be vigilant and keep an eye on their children as students and youths were getting addicted to drugs and were committing crimes and indulging in other anti-social activities.
