Disqualified Congress MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 22:Â Notice has been issued to disqualified Congress MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal in a case related to illegal construction. A notice has been issued to him to appear in the Commissioner’s court to be held on March 23 i.e. Saturday morning at Chakkar Court in Shimla. According to the Municipal Corporation Administration, the matter is of the year 2014. Inder Dutt Lakhanpal has a three-storey house built near Tara Devi. In the year 2014, his wife Usha Lakhanpal was a councilor in Municipal Corporation. According to the corporation, during this time Inder Dutt Lakhanpal had taken permission from the corporation for repair work in the building.

But under the guise of this permission, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal carried out illegal construction on a large area adjacent to the building. After the complaint was filed in 2015, its hearing started in the Commissioner’s Court. The matter was in cold storage for the last nine years. Suddenly this matter has come to the fore again. However, the Municipal Corporation is claiming that the matter was heard last December also. The Municipal Corporation has sent a notice and directed Lakhanpal to appear again. In case of non-appearance, a unilateral decision may be taken. Corporation architect Mehboob Shaikh says that the matter will be heard on Saturday.
