Bijli Mahadev Ropeway Project: Bijli Mahadev ropeway will start from Nature Park (Mohal) and reach the Bijli Mahadev temple. Bijli Mahadev ropeway Will be 2.3 km long. One cable car will have a seating capacity of 10 people. Due to which the journey of three hours will be completed in just seven minutes. There will be movement of 36,000 pilgrims daily through ropeway and facility of all-weather connectivity will be available.

There is a huge crowd of devotees at Bijli Mahadev Temple during Mahashivratri on Friday. At the same time, recently Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has laid the foundation stone of the Ropeway Project for Bijli Mahadev.

Ropeway Will Be Built Here At A Cost Of Rs. 300 Crore And An Installment Of Rs. 226 Crore Has Been Released.
According to complete information, the distance of Bijli Mahadev Temple from Kullu district is approximately 14 km. To reach Bijli Mahadev Temple, devotees have to trek for 3 km. The 3 km walking route to Bijli Mahadev Temple starts from Kinja village. This 3 km long path through the forests leads to Bijli Mahadev Temple. After about 3 hours of walking, devotees reach Bijli Mahadev Temple.

Now a ropeway is going to be constructed on a 3 km long walkway. Bijli Mahadev ropeway will start from Nature Park (Mohal) and reach the Bijli Mahadev temple. National Highway Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) construction company has been entrusted with the work of building the Bijli Mahadev Mandir Ropeway. Prakash Gaur, CEO of NHLML, says that normally the construction has to start within six months after the work is awarded, But efforts are being made to start the construction work of Bijli Mahadev Temple ropeway before the scheduled time. By the year 2026, people will get the facility to travel in Bijli Mahadev Temple By Ropeway.

It is noteworthy that Bijli Mahadev Temple is a world famous pilgrimage site. It is also believed that every 12 years, lightning strikes the Shivalinga in the Bijli Mahadev temple and the Shivalinga gets broken. Then a paste of butter is applied and the broken Shivalinga is joined.
Although, 9 panchayats of Kharahal valley of Kullu are opposing the construction of ropeway. They say that construction of ropeway here will affect local business. Taxi drivers will lose their livelihood.
Memorandum was submitted on 19 February By Bijli Mahadev Sangharsh Samiti –
Bijli Mahadev Sangharsh Samiti had protested on February 19 and sent a memorandum to Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla through Deputy Commissioner Kullu Torul S Ravish demanding cancellation of the construction of Bijli Mahadev Ropeway.
Sir Chand Thakur, President of Bijli Mahadev Sangharsh Samiti said that the people of Kharahal Valley have been protesting against the construction of ropeway from 3 years.
