HP Sukhu Govt: Preparation To Make One A Minister And Give Cabinet Rank To Four MLAs

Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla , March 04: Amidst the political crisis in Himachal Pradesh and to allay the resentment of the MLAs of its camp, the Sukhu government is preparing to make an unhappy MLA a minister and give cabinet rank to four other MLAs. This important decision can be taken by the Himachal Pradesh government before the implementation of the code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections. At present one post is vacant in Himachal Pradesh Cabinet. Apart from this, Chief Whip, Deputy Chief Whip and Chairman of Food Supply Corporation and HIMFED are to be deployed. Amidst the ongoing political turmoil in the state since the Rajya Sabha elections, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu recently appointed Nand Lal, MLA from Rampur, nearest of Holly Lodge, as the Chairman of the Seventh Finance Commission and Bhawani Singh Pathania, MLA from Fatehpur Assembly constituency, as the Chairman of the State Planning Commission. Bhawani Singh Pathania has been made the Vice Chairman of the Board and given cabinet rank. There are preparations to give similar status to four other MLAs also.
Earlier, shortly after the formation of the government, Nagrota Bagwan MLA Raghubir Singh Bali was made the Vice Chairman of the State Tourism Development Board and given cabinet rank.

To answer the next move of BJP, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is going to strengthen the fort of his government with such political strategy. The state government has also prepared a list of MLAs for coronation.
Kullu MLA and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sundar Singh Thakur name is at the forefront to make him a minister. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh can take a decision anytime to fill a vacant post in cabinet.
According to sources, any four MLAs out of Shahpur MLA Kewal Singh Pathania, Manali MLA Bhuvneshwar Gaur, Dharampur MLA Chandrashekhar, Shimla Urban MLA Harish Janartha, Kasauli MLA Vinod Sultanpuri, Kutlehar MLA Sudarshan Bablu and Jwalamukhi MLA Sanjay Ratna can be given cabinet rank.
Vinod Sultanpuri can also be given Lok Sabha ticket from Shimla parliamentary seat by the Congress party.
Other MLAs can also be appointed to the post of chairpersons or vice-chairpersons in boards, corporations or other autonomous institutions.
Apart from this, it is almost certain to be made Chief Whip and Deputy Chief Whip.
The previous Jairam Thakur government had given the status of Cabinet Minister by making Ramesh Dhawala the Chief Whip and Narendra Bragta the Deputy Chief Whip.
He is going to be crowned to remove the resentment of many officials and workers in the Congress Party. These officials and Congress party workers can be given big positions in the Congress party only.
