Himachal News: This Year’s Budget Increased By Rs 10,307.59 Crore, CM Presented Installment Of Supplementary Grant Demands In The House

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presented the first and last installment of supplementary grant demands for the financial year 2023-24 in the House on Thursday. These supplementary demands amount to Rs 10,307.59 crore, of which Rs 7,267.41 crore are for state and Rs 3,040.18 crore for centrally sponsored schemes. Due to which the budget for the financial year 2023-24 increased by Rs 10,307.59 crore, which was passed by Rs 53,413 crore. Rs 3,367.76 crore under state schemes for ways and means and overdraft, Rs 696.44 lakh for water supply and sewerage schemes, Rs 598.71 crore for pension and other retirement benefits, Rs 442.09 lakh for assistance to Himachal Road Transport Corporation, electricity subsidy and HPPCL. Rs 372.66 crore has been raised for the loan and Rs 279.32 crore has been raised for the construction of hospitals, Himcare scheme and Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Fund. Rs 215.02 lakh for roads, bridges, Rs 110.76 lakh for multi-purpose buildings, mini secretariats, construction of State Guest House at Dwarka, New Delhi, maintenance of office buildings, Rs 110.67 crore for railway projects, Rs 102.47 crore for assistance to urban local bodies under 15th Finance Commission, AMRUT. Provision has been made for the construction of grant, cast tunnel and Khalini flyover.

Rs 96.25 crore for interest payments, Rs 87.26 crore for construction of polytechnic colleges, ITIs, senior secondary schools, college buildings, payment of salaries, Rs 80.85 crore for rehabilitation of disaster affected families, reconstruction of NDRF building in Salapar, Rs 71.18 crore for HP Shiva Project, pesticides. Rs 63.87 crore has been earmarked for the Chief Minister’s Sukh Aashray Kosh, social security pension for women and ex-gratia grant to dependents of deceased employees, Rs 61.79 crore for modernization of the police force, installation of CCTV cameras in police stations and wages.
57.45 lakh for Forest Department’s Integrated Development Project and Zika Project, 55.95 crore for natural disaster relief, 47.43 crore for grant to Skill Development Corporation and implementation of Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Startup Scheme and 38.45 crore for pending pre-poll obligations and preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. 1,590.52 crore received from NDRF for disaster management, 525 crore Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, 207.23 crore compensation to Renukaji Dam evacuees, 171.31 crore Stars Project, 149.49 crore Smart City Mission Shimla, 50.70 lakh Pradhan Mantri Agricultural Irrigation Scheme, 48.98 crore Smart City Mission Dharamshala. Provision has been made for Rs. 48.34 crore Central Road Fund, Rs. 45.94 crore for National AYUSH Mission etc.
