Himachal: Krasna Lab Stopped Taking Test Samples, Problems of Patients Increased

The facility of free testing in Krasna Lab established in all the government hospitals of Himachal Pradesh has completely stopped. Since Wednesday morning, samples related to various tests of all the patients are not being taken in Krasna Lab. Due to which the entire health system has collapsed. In Mandi district, Solan district, Sirmaur district, Kullu district, Hamirpur district, Bilaspur district as well as in all other districts, patients have to wander here and there to get tested. Sources are saying that due to non-payment of outstanding bills of Krasna Lab by Himachal Pradesh Government, all the tests have been stopped.

However, all the government labs are running smoothly. All testing services have also stopped in Krasna Lab located in IGMC Shimla.

An amount of forty crore rupees of Krasna Lab is outstanding in Solan District Hospital itself –

Krasna Lab managers in Solan district have stopped taking all test samples from 12 o’clock last night. Due to which the health system in all the government hospitals of Solan district has completely collapsed. In Solan District Hospital alone, the Himachal Pradesh government has not yet paid more than Rs 40 crore to the Krasna Lab managers.

MS Dr. SL Verma of Solan District Hospital told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that Krasna Lab managers have stopped taking all test samples free of cost. All senior officials have also been informed about the closure of all tests from Krasna Lab. At present, all free samples are being taken from government labs only.

All services of Krasna Lab stopped in Hamirpur district also –

Dr. In Radhakrishnan Medical College, Hamirpur district also, the services of all Krasna Labs have been stopped due to non-payment.

There used to be long queues of patients outside Krasna Lab day and night, but on Wednesday, not a single patient was seen at Krasna Lab.

Krasna Lab has not been paid by the Himachal Pradesh government for the last six months. Despite repeated ultimatums, no hearing has been done by the Himachal Pradesh government.

On the other hand, in Bilaspur district also all the free samples services of Krasna Lab have stopped. Due to which all the patients have been forced to turn to private labs.
