Mandi News : Ten employees of the Forest Department, who were trapped last evening in the coal dam at Salapad on the border of Mandi and Bilaspur in the state, have been rescued safely after the rescue operation that went on late last night.
According to the information, all these workers along with the boat got stuck in the dam site due to the arrival of a large amount of wood and silt in the coal dam after heavy rains. They requested the administration to save themselves.
Later, Deputy Commissioner Mandi Arindam Chowdhary reached the spot and called the NDRF team and started the campaign to save them and all these people were removed from the dam at 3 am today.
Out of these people trapped at the site, five were Forest Department employees while the other five were local people. Deputy Commissioner Arindam Chowdhary told that all of them have been rescued amidst the rain and difficult conditions and they themselves were present on the spot.
