Supriya Sule and Praful Patel became working president of NCP
A major change has taken place in the Nationalist Congress Party organization before the Lok Sabha elections. Supriya Sule and Praful Patel have been made working presidents of NCP. NCP chief Sharad Pawar has made this announcement on the occasion of 25th foundation day of NCP. At the same time, Supriya Sule has thanked for being made the working president.
Sharad Pawar had announced to leave the post of party president a few days back. However, after pressure from party leaders and workers, Pawar agreed to continue in the post.
Praful Patel has been given the responsibility of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Goa along with the acting president. Sunil Tatkare has been made the national general secretary. Along with this, he has been given the responsibility of looking after the work of the party in Odisha, West Bengal, Farmers and Minority Department.
By declaring Supriya Sule as the working president of the party, Sharad Pawar has indirectly made Supriya his successor. Sharad Pawar also escaped the charge of promoting familyism by making two working presidents. On the other hand, by not giving the responsibility of Maharashtra to Praful Patel, the work has been done to keep him away from Maharashtra.
