On the second day of Auto Expo-2023 (January 12), Maruti unveiled the Jimny for the first time in the Indian market with 7 colors and Alpha-Zeta 2 variants. However, the Jimny has been present in the international market for quite some time now. Along with the launch, its booking was also started. In the global market, the car is sold in a three-door version.
In many media reports, the mileage of Jimny is being claimed to be 16-19 kilometers per liter. No information has been given by the company regarding this.
Jimny will be available in 4 wheel drive, 5 door version
4 wheel drive and 5 door version of Jimny has been brought in India. The Jimny is powered by a 1.5-litre K-Series naturally aspirated petrol engine, which generates 104 bhp power at 6,000 RPM and 134 Nm peak torque at 4,000 RPM.
The SUV gets the older 4 cylinder K15B engine instead of the K-15C mill found in newer Maruti vehicles. The Jimny is available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed automatic transmission with AllGrip Pro 4X4 system for enhanced off-road performance.
