US : President Biden invites Australian PM Albanese, PNG PM Marape
US President Joe Biden has invited Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape on Wednesday for the upcoming meeting. The director of the National Security Council for the Indo-Pacific gave this information. This call has been sent by Biden to the top leaders of both the countries at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met Albanese and Marape during his visit to both the countries.
Dr. Mira Rapp-Hooper said that Biden has invited Albanese to come to America. He said, ‘Prime Minister Albanese accepted Biden’s invitation and the two leaders discussed the upcoming meeting. Earlier, both the leaders had met in Hiroshima during the G-20 meeting. Our team has already started trying to plan for the journey.
Talking about Marape, Hooper said that Biden has invited him to the US for the second Pacific summit to be held in Washington. He said, ‘President Biden spoke with Prime Minister Marape and told him about the need to cancel his visit to Papua New Guinea, he (Biden) made it clear that he would like to invite the leaders of the Pacific Islands to the second Pacific Summit.
