Healthcare services in Haroli are set for a major upgrade as Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Monday laid the foundation stone for a new extension building at the Civil Hospital. The ₹8.42 crore project will increase the hospital’s capacity by adding 50 indoor beds along with state-of-the-art operation theatres, significantly strengthening medical infrastructure in the region.
The Civil Hospital currently operates with a capacity of 50 beds. Once the expansion is completed, the hospital will be able to accommodate many more patients, helping reduce pressure on existing healthcare facilities and improving access to quality treatment for residents of Haroli and nearby areas.
Speaking at the foundation stone ceremony, Agnihotri said the project is expected to be completed within one year before being dedicated to the public. He emphasized that the expansion reflects the state government’s commitment to improving healthcare services across Himachal Pradesh.
The Deputy Chief Minister also highlighted that the hospital currently has 11 doctors, including several specialists, ensuring better medical care for patients visiting the facility.
Looking ahead, Agnihotri announced that the government is actively working to establish an Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Hospital in the Haroli Assembly constituency. The proposed hospital is aimed at serving workers employed in the Bathu-Bathari-Tahliwal industrial belt as well as the upcoming Bulk Drug Park at Polian village, which is expected to generate significant employment in the coming years.
In another major announcement, the Deputy Chief Minister said residential quarters for doctors will be constructed in Haroli to improve accommodation facilities for medical staff. He also confirmed that the Civil Hospital will soon receive a fully equipped ambulance, further strengthening emergency healthcare services.
During his visit, Agnihotri also inaugurated a new academic building at the Government Senior Secondary School in Pandoga. The building has been constructed at a cost of ₹90 lakh to improve educational infrastructure in the area.
He further informed that the Tiuri-Pandoga bridge over the Swan River, being built at a cost of ₹52 lakh, is nearing completion and is expected to be opened for public use within the next five months.
Addressing another long-pending local demand, the Deputy Chief Minister announced that land is currently being identified in Lower Pandoga village for the construction of a new Panchayat Bhawan, which will provide improved civic facilities to local residents.
The announcements underline the Himachal Pradesh government’s continued focus on strengthening healthcare, education, transport, and rural infrastructure to support the region’s growing development needs.
