Himachal Pradesh Weather Update: Rain, Thunderstorm & Lightning Alert Issued for Next 5 Days, Hailstorm Likely in These Districts
Himachal Pradesh is set to experience a fresh spell of changing weather conditions, with light to moderate rainfall expected in several regions over the next five to six days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusty winds at isolated locations across most districts during the next three days.

The weather department has also predicted the possibility of a hailstorm on Saturday in the districts of Mandi, Kullu, and Shimla, prompting residents and tourists to remain cautious while travelling or engaging in outdoor activities.
During the last 24 hours, many parts of Himachal Pradesh witnessed light to moderate rainfall, especially in the districts of Chamba and Sirmaur. The state capital Shimla also recorded light showers on Friday afternoon, bringing temporary relief from warmer daytime conditions.
Temperature patterns across the state remained largely stable. The IMD reported no significant change in minimum temperatures over the past day. Most weather stations recorded temperatures around the normal range, while a few locations experienced minimum temperatures around 2–3 degrees Celsius below average.
Similarly, maximum temperatures showed no major fluctuations, although some areas recorded daytime temperatures 2–6 degrees Celsius lower than normal. The maximum temperatures ranged between 19°C and 25°C in high-altitude regions, 25°C to 34°C in mid-hill areas, and 34°C to 39°C in low hills and plains.
Among the recorded temperatures on Friday, Kukumseri in the Lahaul and Spiti district remained the coldest place in the state with a minimum temperature of 6.8°C. Meanwhile, Una registered the highest daytime temperature at 37.4°C.
With rain activity expected to continue in the coming days, residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and follow safety precautions, especially in areas prone to thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorms.
