181 Public Complaints Addressed in Sundernagar Camp as Vikramaditya Singh Pushes ‘Government at Doorstep’ Initiative

The camp witnessed an overwhelming response, with 181 complaints and demands raised by residents from nine panchayats, reflecting both the trust of the public and the urgency of local issues.
Out of 108 previously submitted grievances, officials had already resolved 98 cases, showcasing administrative efficiency even before the event began. During the camp, 83 new complaints were registered, most of which were addressed on the spot, while the remaining were forwarded to concerned departments for swift action.
Focus on People-Centric Governance
Addressing the gathering, the minister emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state government is prioritizing doorstep delivery of services and quick grievance redressal.
He highlighted that such outreach programmes are bridging the gap between citizens and administration by bringing essential services like free health check-ups, disability certification, and departmental assistance directly to rural areas.
Departments Under Spotlight
The majority of complaints were related to key public departments, including:
- Public Works Department (PWD)
- Revenue Department
- Forest Department
- Electricity Board
- Health and Education sectors
Officials were directed to ensure time-bound and effective solutions, reinforcing accountability at every level.
Major Infrastructure Announcements
In a significant boost to regional infrastructure, the minister announced that the Nihri-Pandar road project under PMGSY-III is set to begin this month. Stressing quality and timely execution, he also encouraged local residents to contribute land voluntarily for development.
Additionally, he assured that ₹1.25 crore required for forest clearance for the Neri-Badhu road project would be deposited soon.
To strengthen the power infrastructure, the government will:
- Install 16 new Distribution Transformers (DTRs)
- Upgrade 22 existing transformers
Big Push for Rural Connectivity
The minister revealed that nearly 1,500 km of roads have been approved under PMGSY-IV with a budget of ₹2,300 crore. Moreover, ongoing PMGSY-III projects worth around ₹3,000 crore have received a two-year extension, ensuring continued development momentum.
On-the-Spot Public Services
The camp also delivered immediate benefits to residents:
- 216 people received free health check-ups
- 48 disability cases were examined
- Driving licences were issued on the spot
Pending Issues to Be Escalated
Vikramaditya Singh assured residents that key concerns, including:
- Staff shortages at Nihri College
- Construction of a Community Health Centre
- Establishment of a Tehsil Welfare Officer office
would be taken up with the Chief Minister for early resolution.
