Bollywood actor Sunny Deol is celebrating the success of his latest film Border 2 amid the calm and snow-covered hills of Manali, choosing peace and simplicity over the usual glamour of Mumbai celebrations. The patriotic war drama has crossed the Rs 200-crore mark within just five days of release, drawing massive audience appreciation across the country.
Sharing a heartfelt video from the icy landscapes of Himachal Pradesh, Sunny recreated his iconic on-screen roar that fans closely associate with his powerful persona. Sitting against a backdrop of snow-laden mountains, he asked his signature line, “Awaz kahaan tak gayi?” before smiling and replying, “Awaz dilon tak gayi hai.”
The emotional moment quickly struck a chord with fans, reflecting the strong connection the film has built with audiences nationwide.
Breaking away from industry norms of celebrating milestones at upscale venues, the actor has rented a cottage near Manali and is spending time in the tranquil surroundings. He has been spotted relaxing on a traditional cot in apple orchards, soaking in the winter sun amid fresh snowfall. Dashal village, around 17 km from Manali, is currently his temporary home.
Local residents and admirers welcomed him warmly. Interacting with fans, Sunny credited the film’s success entirely to the audience and thanked them for their continued love and support. His humble and grounded approach has further endeared him to many.
Manali holds deep emotional value for the actor. For nearly two decades, Sunny Deol has maintained a close association with the region, often spending extended breaks there. His father, veteran actor Dharmendra, also shared memorable moments with him in the hill station, making it more than just a getaway destination — a second home.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is inspired by the 1971 Indo-Pak war and features an ensemble cast including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty alongside Sunny Deol. With hard-hitting dialogues and strong patriotic themes, the film continues to perform strongly at the box office.
As Border 2 enjoys a triumphant run, Sunny’s quiet celebration in the mountains highlights his bond with nature, fans and the values of simplicity that define him.
