Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Tuesday accused the state government of deliberately ignoring the development priorities submitted by BJP legislators, alleging that important works in their constituencies have remained pending for the past three years.

Thakur claimed that despite submitting annual lists of priority projects, no concrete action has been taken by the government. “The priorities given by BJP MLAs for their constituencies have not been acted upon for the last three years. This shows clear discrimination and political bias,” he said.

Urging the Chief Minister to rise above party politics, Thakur demanded the immediate release of MLAs’ development and discretionary funds. He also called for timely budgetary approvals and swift implementation of pending works to ensure that public welfare projects are not delayed.

He warned that if the situation does not improve, BJP legislators may have no option but to boycott future meetings related to MLAs’ priorities. “There is no point in holding such meetings when the government is not serious about executing the approved works,” he added.

The Leader of Opposition further alleged that the government has failed to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the projects proposed by BJP MLAs or forward them to the concerned departments for financial clearance.

Thakur also claimed that even projects that have already received budget allocations, DPR approvals and forest clearances are being unnecessarily delayed on one pretext or another, affecting development activities on the ground.

He said the continued neglect of priority works is hampering growth in several constituencies and depriving people of essential infrastructure and services.
