Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday said that the Him MSME Fest-2026 would prove to be a major milestone in connecting Himachal Pradesh’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector with markets, investments and modern technologies, while giving it national and international recognition.
The Chief Minister said that the Department of Industries will organise the Him MSME Fest-2026 in Shimla from January 3 to 5. The festival is being envisioned as a powerful platform to fulfil the aspirations of thousands of small entrepreneurs, artisans and start-ups across the state.
“The festival will significantly strengthen the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Himachal’ by promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and inclusive growth,” Sukhu said.
Highlighting the theme ‘The Craft of the Hills on the Global Stage’, the Chief Minister said the event would connect Himachal’s local and traditional products with global markets. He added that the festival would serve as a unique convergence point for emerging and established start-ups, bringing together ideas, innovation and investment.
Entrepreneurs will get an opportunity to showcase their products and services, interact directly with investors and buyers, and explore new avenues for business expansion, he said.
The Chief Minister further stated that the festival is a priority initiative of the state government, aimed at promoting inclusive industrial growth through investment facilitation, enterprise promotion and women entrepreneurship.
Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan said that a special exhibition of handcrafted shawls would be organised on the opening day of the festival, showcasing the state’s rich weaving and handicraft heritage from various districts.
He added that special focus would be laid on women entrepreneurship under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. Through buyer-seller meets, knowledge-sharing sessions and networking interactions, women and rural entrepreneurs would gain access to new business opportunities.
The Him MSME Fest-2026 is being organised in consultation with Ernst & Young, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
