CM Sukhu Takes Aim at Anurag Thakur: “BJP Failed to Protect Himachal’s Interests, Even the ‘Five Pandavas’ Couldn’t Fight for Their Rights”

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu hit out at Union Minister Anurag Thakur, saying the BJP is divided into five factions and has failed to defend the state’s interests. Responding to Thakur’s “five Pandavas” remark, Sukhu said BJP leaders have not raised Himachal’s voice in Parliament or pressed PM Modi to release the ₹1,500 crore disaster relief fund promised to the state.

Nadaun | November 8 — Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday hit back at Union Minister Anurag Thakur over his recent “five Pandavas” remark, saying it only exposed the internal divisions within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“Anurag Thakur himself has admitted that the BJP is divided into five factions. When the Kauravas refused to give even five villages, the Pandavas fought for their rights — but these self-proclaimed Pandavas of the BJP have completely failed to fight for Himachal Pradesh’s rights,” Sukhu said while addressing a public meeting in Nadaun.

The Chief Minister accused the BJP’s seven MPs from Himachal of failing to raise the state’s concerns either in the Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha.

“They don’t even have the courage to approach Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ask him to release the ₹1,500 crore disaster relief package that was promised. Even during the natural calamity, the BJP’s double standards and true character were exposed before the public,” he said.

Sukhu alleged that the previous BJP government “looted” the state’s resources and sold off its interests.

“For five years, the BJP plundered Himachal’s wealth. Anurag Thakur should tell the people how many times he raised his voice in Delhi for Himachal’s rights or demanded a special disaster relief package for the state,” the Chief Minister added.
