Tension in Sundernagar After Man Allegedly Follows 13-Year-Old Girl Home; Mob Thrashes Accused, Clashes Erupt Inside Police Station

Sundernagar, November — Tension gripped Sundernagar on Wednesday evening after a 38-year-old man in a Fortuner allegedly followed a 13-year-old girl to her home, sparking outrage in the locality.

When the girl’s family confronted the man, he allegedly became aggressive, leading to a heated altercation on the spot. A crowd quickly gathered, blocking the road, and in their anger, the public beat up the accused and blackened his face before police intervened and took him into custody.

However, the situation worsened later at the local police station, where members of the accused’s community allegedly forced their way into the Investigating Officer’s room and assaulted the girl’s father and relatives, reportedly trying to pressure them into settling the case.

The confrontation led to chaos inside the station, forcing police to call for additional reinforcement to prevent escalation between the two communities. Officers managed to separate the groups and restore order after intense efforts.

A senior police official said, “We immediately evacuated the group from inside the station and sealed both entry gates to maintain law and order. Strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to take the law into their own hands.”

Police have filed multiple cases against the accused under sections related to stalking, assault, and obstruction of government duty, and further investigation is underway.

Authorities have also increased surveillance in the area and deployed extra personnel to ensure peace following the incident.
