Four Youths from Punjab Arrested in Kasauli with 62 Grams of Heroin
Solan Police have arrested four youths from Punjab near Chhatri Mor in Kasauli and recovered 62.13 grams of heroin from their possession.
According to Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh, a team from the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) was conducting patrols in and around Kasauli to curb criminal activity when they intercepted a car and seized the contraband. The arrested individuals have been identified as Virender Singh (26) of Jalandhar, and Lakhwinder (21), Kunal (25), and Kithu Mattu (20), all residents of Ludhiana.
A case has been registered against them under Sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Kasauli police station.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were planning to supply the narcotic substance to youths and students in Kasauli, Dharampur, and nearby areas. Except for Virender Singh, the other three have prior criminal records involving assault cases registered at various police stations in Ludhiana. Their backgrounds are currently being verified.
SP Gaurav Singh said, “We have adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking and remain committed to eradicating this menace from society.”
