The Central Government is set to organize grand celebrations across the country to mark 150 years of India’s national song, Vande Mataram. In recognition of the song’s historic role in the freedom struggle, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will hold large-scale, public participation programs at both the national and state levels.
BJP State Vice President and MLA Vipin Singh Parmar said that India is proudly celebrating 150 years of Vande Mataram, a song that is not just an anthem but a symbol of patriotism and unity. He said that every school in the country should include Vande Mataram in its daily prayer routine.
On November 7 at 11 a.m., the BJP will organize collective renditions of Vande Mataram across all parliamentary constituencies in Himachal Pradesh. The events will be held at Ambedkar Chowk in Shimla, the Kangra Assembly premises in Kangra, Kallu in Mandi, and Hamirpur.
Parmar said the song continues to embody the spirit of nationalism, unity, and devotion to the motherland, and its 150th anniversary is being celebrated with great pride and reverence.
He also alleged that the Congress party prevented Vande Mataram from being fully adopted in the past to appease the Muslim League. “Congress removed several stanzas from the song, reflecting its anti-national mindset,” Parmar claimed.
