Iran’s President Says Tehran Will Rebuild Its Nuclear Facilities
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Sunday that Tehran will rebuild its nuclear facilities “with even greater strength,” while maintaining that the country does not seek nuclear weapons, according to state media.
U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that if Tehran attempts to restart the facilities struck by U.S. airstrikes in June, he will order fresh attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites.
Pezeshkian made the remarks during a visit to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, where he met with senior officials from the country’s nuclear industry.
“The destruction of buildings or factories is not a problem for us — we will rebuild them, and make them stronger,” the Iranian president told state media.
In June, the United States carried out strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, which Washington claimed were part of a weapons development program. Tehran, however, insists its nuclear activities are entirely for civilian purposes.
Speaking about Iran’s nuclear work, Pezeshkian added, “All of this is to address people’s problems — for health, for medicine, and for the well-being of our citizens.”
