Snowfall Expected in High-Altitude Areas on October 21 and 22
A weak western disturbance to affect western Himalayan region

High-altitude regions of Himachal Pradesh are likely to witness another spell of light snowfall on October 21 and 22. Earlier this month, the state experienced its first snowfall of the season during the first week of October.
According to the Meteorological Department, a weak western disturbance is expected to affect the western Himalayan region from October 21. As a result, light snowfall and rain are likely in some parts of the higher reaches of Chamba, Kinnaur, and Lahaul-Spiti districts. However, the rest of the state is expected to remain mainly dry during this period.
The weather remained largely dry across the state on Sunday. Minimum temperatures were recorded between 1°C and 20°C, which is 2°C to 4°C above normal. Maximum temperatures ranged from 16°C to 35°C — around 2°C to 3°C above the seasonal average.
Shimla recorded a maximum temperature of 24°C, Dharamshala 27°C, Manali 21.8°C, Solan and Nahan 29°C, Kangra 30.1°C, Mandi 26.4°C, Bilaspur 31.9°C, Hamirpur 30.1°C, Rekong Peo 23.5°C, Sundernagar 30.2°C, Bhuntar 28.5°C, Kalpa 20.4°C, Kufri 18.4°C, and Narkanda 17.8°C.
Una remained the warmest location in the state with a maximum temperature of 33°C, while Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest at 0.8°C.
