Clash Between ABVP and SFI Activists at Himachal Pradesh University Leaves Several Injured
Several students were injured on Wednesday following a violent clash between Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Students’ Federation of India (SFI) activists at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU).
The incident occurred when both groups had gathered on campus to welcome new students. What began as an exchange of words quickly escalated into a physical altercation, with members from both sides attacking each other. More than six students reportedly sustained injuries to their heads, arms, and legs.
Police personnel stationed at the university intervened to bring the situation under control.
A video of the scuffle has since gone viral on social media, showing activists from both organizations attacking each other as police attempt to separate them.
ABVP activists alleged that SFI members made derogatory remarks while they were standing near the university gate and then launched an unprovoked attack, sparking a heated argument that soon turned violent.
SFI members, however, accused ABVP of disrupting the campus atmosphere and denied initiating the confrontation.
Police officials confirmed the incident and said a case has been registered at the Boileauganj police station. An investigation is underway.
