Death Toll from Thailand Floods Rises to 22; Relief Operations Underway

The death toll from severe flooding in Thailand has risen to 22, officials said on Tuesday, as rescue teams raced to assist nearly 370,000 people affected by days of heavy rainfall and overflowing rivers.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation reported that 19 provinces have been hit, with Uttaradit and Ayutthaya, north of Bangkok, among the worst affected areas.
Emergency teams are distributing food and essential supplies while closely monitoring rising water levels amid continued monsoon rains across large parts of the country, officials said.
