Shimla, August 17:
The three men from Punjab, arrested in Shimla’s New Tutikandi area with an unlicensed pistol and live cartridges, were produced in court on Saturday. The court has remanded them to five days of police custody, during which investigators will probe their wider network, local contacts, and gang affiliations.

Wanted Across States, Linked to Gang Rivalries

The accused have been identified as Gurjit Singh (27) of Muktsar district, Pradeep Kumar alias Sukha (24), and Jagpal Singh (27), both from Fazilka district in Punjab. Police investigations have revealed that all three are hardened criminals and wanted in multiple cases across Punjab, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.

Officials said the trio is directly associated with the Sunil Yadav gang. After Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang allegedly killed Sunil Yadav abroad, the men went live on Instagram challenging Bishnoi’s network. Since then, the Bishnoi gang has been targeting them, forcing the accused to constantly move and seek shelter in different states.

How They Found Shelter in Shimla

Based on a tip-off about possible drug trafficking, the SIT raided a private building in New Tutu late Saturday night. Although no drugs were found, the police recovered a pistol and 11 live cartridges from the suspects’ room.

Investigations further revealed that the trio had been given shelter in Shimla by their associate Pankaj, who arranged accommodation for them through a local youth, Vikas.

Probe Expands Across States

A senior police official confirmed that the men are wanted in several states and have links to larger criminal networks. Coordination with police in neighboring states has already begun to gather details of cases registered against them.

Authorities are also scrutinizing their local contacts and possible support systems in Himachal. For now, the three accused remain in five-day police custody, with officials expecting more revelations during interrogation.
