Mandi, August 17: Naib Subedar Satish Kumar of 4 Dogra Regiment, a resident of Samohli village in Gram Panchayat Bhuhla Bhadiara, Jogindernagar subdivision of Mandi district, has been conferred the Vir Chakra for his extraordinary bravery and indomitable courage. He received this honor for his gallantry during Operation Sindoor, where he played a pivotal role in giving a befitting response to Pakistan’s forces.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu congratulated Satish Kumar on being awarded the Vir Chakra, stating that his valor has filled not only his family but the entire state and the nation with pride. He reiterated that Himachal Pradesh, known as the ‘Land of the Brave’, has always produced soldiers who have proven their courage on every front.
The Chief Minister further said that the heroic feats of the state’s sons in various operations, and the numerous gallantry awards they have earned, are both a matter of great pride for the people of Himachal and a source of inspiration for future generations. He added that stories of courage from soldiers like Naib Subedar Satish Kumar will continue to inspire the youth towards serving the nation.
The state government has also assured that soldiers honored with gallantry awards, along with their families, will always be given priority and due respect. The CM emphasized that Himachal’s soldiers have defended the nation even in the toughest of circumstances, strengthening the state’s identity as a land of valor. Naib Subedar Satish Kumar’s achievement is a proud moment not just for his village and Mandi district, but for the entire Himachal Pradesh.
