Shimla, July 26:
In a first for the state, the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet will hold meetings for four consecutive days, from July 28 to July 31, with daily sessions scheduled from 12 noon to 2 PM at the Himachal Pradesh Secretariat in Shimla. The government has issued an official notification regarding this unprecedented schedule.

These extended cabinet meetings are expected to focus primarily on formulating a major relief package for those affected by the recent natural calamities in the state. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has already emphasized the government’s firm commitment to supporting disaster-affected residents and indicated that a comprehensive relief plan will be finalized following in-depth cabinet discussions.

In addition to disaster relief, the cabinet will deliberate on key issues such as the current monsoon situation, forecasted rainfall patterns, the implementation of budget announcements, and crucial matters pertaining to various departments. Decisions related to new government recruitments may also be taken during these sessions.

The notification states that a detailed agenda for each meeting will be shared separately. Relevant departments and officials—including the Chief Minister’s Office, Secretariat, Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, General Administration, and the Department of Information & Public Relations—have already been informed and instructed to prepare accordingly.

The state government hopes that these meetings will result in concrete decisions that will accelerate relief and rehabilitation efforts for affected families. The administration has also reaffirmed its intent to implement all budget commitments on schedule and hold further discussions on new development initiatives aimed at propelling Himachal Pradesh’s growth.
