Solan, July 15:
To curb illegal mining activities in the Baddi police district, a special 10-day enforcement campaign has been launched by the Baddi Police, running from July 15 to July 24, 2025. The initiative aims to take strict action against illegal mining operations while ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order.

As part of the campaign, the Superintendent of Police, Baddi, has issued clear directives to all Station House Officers (SHOs) to take stringent legal action against JCB machines, tractors, and tippers operating without number plates under the Mining Act and Motor Vehicles Act. The police have intensified patrolling, surprise checks, vehicle inspections, and inter-agency coordination in identified mining-prone areas to prevent unauthorized activities.

On the very first day of the campaign, 23 vehicles were seized in the BBN (Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh) region under the supervision of the SP. Among them, 8 tractors and 1 tipper were found directly involved in illegal mining, while 6 JCBs, 7 tractors, and 1 tipper were being operated without number plates and were impounded under traffic violations.

The Baddi Police reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order and safeguarding public interests. They emphasized that strict action against those involved in illegal mining will continue throughout the campaign without leniency.
