Mandi, July 14:
After being closed for 14 hours, the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway has once again been reopened to traffic. This comes shortly after it had previously remained shut for 28 hours due to a major landslide near the Four Mile area of Mandi.

The highway was briefly reopened around 5:30 PM on Sunday, only to be closed again around 10:30 PM the same night after fresh debris and rocks tumbled down the hillside. Early this morning, more heavy debris fell, delaying clearance operations due to safety concerns.

After several hours of strenuous efforts, traffic was finally restored around 12:30 PM today. Stranded commuters, many of whom had spent the night on the highway, expressed relief and continued onward to their destinations.

One traveler shared the frustration of repeated disruptions, urging the authorities to find a permanent solution to the recurring landslides.
Meanwhile, SHO Sadar Inspector Desh Raj confirmed that the threat of falling rocks remains, and urged travelers to exercise extreme caution, especially during the monsoon season.
