Mandi, July 13
A video of former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur is making rounds on social media, capturing him braving a landslide-prone stretch near Lambathach village in his home constituency Seraj. In the clip, he is seen quickly running across a dangerous patch of road while stones continue to fall from the hillside above.

According to information verified during a fact-check of the video, the footage was taken around 5 PM on Saturday. Thakur was returning to Thunag after assessing damage caused by recent heavy rains in Karsog, when he encountered a landslide-blocked road near Lambathach.

Stones had fallen from the hillside, forcing a halt to all traffic. Jairam Thakur, along with members of his team, personally helped in clearing the debris. After allowing empty vehicles to cross the cleared patch, he and his team crossed the section on foot. As he approached the spot, the falling rocks posed a renewed threat, prompting him to dash across quickly to avoid injury.

The moment was caught on camera and has since gone viral online. It highlights not just the perilous conditions in the region, but also the on-ground reality that residents of Seraj—like their representative Jairam Thakur—are navigating dangerous terrain daily, as many roads remain blocked due to the ongoing disaster.

Several such locations across Seraj constituency continue to pose serious risks to commuters. Road clearance efforts are still underway, and authorities are urging people to exercise caution while traveling in landslide-prone areas.
