Dehra, July 3:
The Swasthani Mata Temple in Rakkar, located in Dehra subdivision of Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district, has become home to the country’s first ‘Tantrakul’ (Tantra School) centre. The centre was formally inaugurated by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, who visited the temple as the chief guest. He offered prayers to Goddess Swasthani and also planted an Indian gooseberry (amla) sapling within the temple premises.
Dehra MLA Kamlesh Thakur, senior Congress leader and former Vice Chairman of the Workers’ Welfare Board Surinder Mankotia from Jaswan-Pragpur, and Jaswan-Pragpur MLA Bikram Singh Thakur were also present on the occasion. The temple resonated with Vedic chants, conch sounds, and devotional slogans by devotees.
The Swasthani Mata Temple in Rakkar is now India’s first official Tantrakul centre, dedicated to the study and practice of Vedas, Vedangas, and Tantric knowledge. The event’s coordinator, Saket Kumar Mishra, and temple manager, Advocate Vinod Sharma, said the centre aims to provide authentic education in Vedic mantras and tantric scriptures, train initiated practitioners, and offer guided instruction for religious rituals and spiritual practices.
Over 40 practitioners associated with Goddess Kamakhya led special Tantric rituals during the event. The centre also plans to host Sat Chandi Path, Rudri, Ganesh Puja, and practices related to Kali Vidya. The presence of accomplished Tantric practitioners from the Himalayan and hill regions across India gave the occasion a distinctive spiritual significance.
Co-coordinators Ashutosh Bhatt and Hemant Sharma noted that the centre will serve as a platform for young people across the country to learn the true methods of Tantric and Vedic disciplines. The initiative aims to develop the temple into a nationally recognized hub for Tantric sadhana and Vedanga studies.
The temple management committee stated that all preparations for the inauguration had been completed well in advance, and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is also expected to visit the temple in the coming days. The event generated considerable enthusiasm among local residents and devotees alike.
