Mandi, June 17:
A major road accident occurred on Tuesday morning in the Pattrighat area of Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh. A private bus en route from Jahu to Mandi lost control and plunged into a deep gorge. Preliminary reports suggest that more than 15 passengers have been injured, and several others are feared trapped beneath the vehicle.

Upon receiving the information, local authorities, police, and villagers rushed to the scene and launched rescue and relief operations. The injured were immediately referred to Nerchowk Medical College for treatment. Rescue teams, aided by cranes and other equipment, are working to remove the bus and rescue those still trapped.

The accident occurred amid heavy rainfall in the region, which has made rescue efforts more challenging. Continuous downpours since Monday night have led to slippery roads and poor visibility, which are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.

Authorities have urged the public to exercise extreme caution during inclement weather and advised private bus operators to avoid overspeeding and negligent driving. Officials confirmed that relief efforts are being carried out on a priority basis, and all necessary assistance is being provided at the site.
