Kullu, 16 June The curtain came down on the three‑day Himachal International Film & Art Festival on Sunday at the scenic Devlok campus in 15 Mile, Kullu. The event drew more than 5,000 visitors, including film enthusiasts, artists, and tourists from across Himachal and other parts of the country.

Screenings and Workshops

Over the course of the festival, audiences enjoyed 50 films, while some 500 school students took part in hands‑on workshops covering mud sculpting, fashion design, modelling, dance, acting, and film‑making. The programme offered young participants a rare opportunity to learn directly from industry professionals.

A Special Guest’s Perspective

Veteran actor Raghuvir Yadav, who attended the closing ceremony, called the festival “an unforgettable experience set in nature’s lap.” He praised its focus on education as well as entertainment, noting that the blend of art, music, and film craft had given real depth to the event. “I believe this festival will soon give Himachal a distinctive place on the international cultural map,” he said.

Festival founders Raja Singh Malhotra and Anurag Vashishth thanked attendees and partners for their support, emphasising their aim to elevate Himachal’s cultural and creative profile. After the first edition in Mandi and this year’s in Kullu, details of a third edition will be announced shortly.

Conversations Under the Trees

On the final day, artists such as Vidhar Joshi, Nitin Baid, Nishi Dugar, Yuki Elias, Kush Patel, Varun Tandon, Rushi Sharma, and Madoshi Nath held informal talks with students, sharing insights into their creative journeys beneath the shade of Devlok’s trees.
