Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Monday evening. During the meeting, he requested that the strategically important Ghatasni–Shilha–Badahni–Bhubhujot–Kullu road be declared a National Highway.
He emphasized the urgent need for an alternative route to the Pathankot–Manali–Leh National Highway, noting that this road would reduce travel distance by approximately 55 kilometers. Once developed, it would serve as a permanent highway, promoting tourism and strengthening the rural economy in the region.
Singh urged the Union Minister to approve the project. In response, Rajnath Singh assured full support from the Centre to the state.
