Shimla, June 9:
Discontent is mounting among Himachal’s youth over the ongoing recruitment of NTT (Nursery Teacher Training) teachers. Former BJP Kasumpti Mandal President Jitendra Bhotka on Monday leveled serious allegations against the state government, claiming that “NTT appointments are being handed out through political recommendations and backdoor entries.”

Bhotka criticised the recruitment process being carried out through private firms, calling it opaque and dismissive of unemployed youth. “Interviews are being conducted across the state in the name of procedure, but in reality, only documents are being collected with no clear or credible selection framework,” he said.

Citing a recent recruitment drive in Paonta Sahib, Bhotka said hundreds of candidates were made to wait in the scorching sun for hours, only to be asked to submit documents without any interviews taking place. “There was no transparency, no schedule—just chaos,” he added.

Expressing anger over the exclusion of Theog from the recruitment process, Bhotka noted that the advertisement released by Tycoon Company did not mention Theog block at all, while Kasumpti constituency included both Kasumpti and Mashobra blocks. “This is outright injustice to the youth of Theog,” he said.

He also referred to an earlier recruitment drive conducted by NIELIT for school helpers, where ₹500 was collected per application across the state. “Despite collecting lakhs of rupees, no interviews were ever held. No school list was released, and the process was completely abandoned,” he claimed.

Bhotka accused Congress ministers and MLAs of preparing lists of loyalists to fill vacancies through favoritism. He demanded the government ensure transparency in the recruitment of NTT teachers and guarantee that only deserving candidates are appointed.
