Bilaspur: 435.88 Grams of Charas Seized from HRTC Bus, Nepali National Arrested

Bilaspur, June 8:
In a significant anti-narcotics operation, the Barmana police seized 435.88 grams of charas from an HRTC bus late Sunday night and arrested a Nepali national in connection with the case.

The incident occurred around 12:30 AM at Barmana Chowk when police stopped an HRTC bus (HP63-4435) traveling from Mandi to Rohru, acting on suspicion. During a routine inspection, officers noticed the suspicious behavior of one of the passengers.

Upon checking a black packet the individual was carrying on his lap, the police recovered 435.88 grams of charas (cannabis). The accused was immediately taken into custody.

A case has been registered under Section 20 of the NDPS Act at Barmana Police Station. The accused has been identified as Heera Bhandari (45), son of Mana Ram, a native of Gautamkot, Nepal. He was currently residing in Badara village, Shimla district.

The investigation is ongoing.
