At Piplu Fair Finale, CM Sukhu Announces ₹119.51 Crore for Bangana

Shimla, June 7:
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu attended the closing ceremony of the three-day Piplu Fair in Bangana, Kutlehar Assembly Constituency, on Saturday as the chief guest. Prior to participating in the traditional procession, he met with locals at the Bangana Rest House to hear their grievances. Addressing a public gathering at Bhalethi, the Chief Minister extended greetings for the fair, calling such events a celebration of local culture and community spirit.

Highlighting the state government’s push for natural farming, CM Sukhu said concrete steps are being taken to encourage farmers to adopt eco-friendly practices and strengthen their economic stability. He urged local farmers to join the initiative and help establish Himachal Pradesh as a leading natural farming state. He also praised local MLA Vivek Sharma for his dedicated efforts toward the development of the region.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects in the Bangana sub-division, amounting to approximately ₹119.51 crore. Among the inaugurated projects were:

  • Executive Engineer’s divisional office building at Thanakalan (₹2.12 crore)

  • Water quality and monitoring training center at Barnoh (₹61.51 lakh)

  • New school building for Government Senior Secondary School, Jathehri (₹2.44 crore)

  • Primary Health Centre, Chamiyari (₹1.45 crore)

  • Four classrooms at Government Senior Secondary School, Mandli (₹93.69 lakh)

  • Metalling and tarring of Olinda–Bohru link road (₹10.31 crore)

  • Construction of Salliy–Handola via Kamoon Pattiyan road and Salliy Mahadev Temple via GPS Lubowal road (₹12.22 crore)

  • Rural Livelihood Center building in Bangana (₹10.73 crore)

He also laid the foundation for projects including:

  • Improvement of lift water supply schemes in Jhambar–Kuriala–Surjehra, Madanpur–Basoli, Panoah–Ghandawal, and Dhamandri–Sanjhot (₹2.35 crore)

  • Irrigation project for Baul and Moh Khas in GP Moh Minar (₹10.59 crore)

  • Tube well construction at Takkar and Lower Basal (₹1.83 crore)

  • Rainwater harvesting structures along Jassana, Bangana, Thanakalan, and Chaproh streams (₹7.20 crore)

  • Housing for State Taxes and Excise Central Enforcement Office, Una (₹6.72 crore)

  • Road construction and improvement from Kharoona to Khairiyan via Chaplah, Garli–Dihar, Makdi, and Chamboa (₹5.98 crore)

  • Bridge construction in Baul, Jhambar, Laam, Takkar, and Mohalla Batiya under NABARD (₹10.44 crore)

  • Bhiyambi to Barsar road project (₹33.59 crore)

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Kutlehar MLA Vivek Sharma, Advocate General Anup Rattan, SC Commission member Dr. Vijay Dogra, Block Congress President Ram Asra, party officials, and senior government officers were also present at the event.
