Bollywood Actor Seen Riding Without Helmet in Lahaul; DSP Assigned to Investigate Viral Video

The tranquil valleys of Lahaul-Spiti have found themselves in the spotlight—not for a film shoot or a cinematic romance, but due to a viral video stirring controversy on social media. The video allegedly shows Bollywood actor Sonu Sood riding a motorcycle without a helmet, violating multiple traffic rules. The clip has sparked widespread reactions and raised concerns about road safety and accountability.
Upon receiving information about the video, the Lahaul-Spiti police initiated an inquiry. According to preliminary findings, the footage appears to be from 2023, though its authenticity has yet to be confirmed. In the video, the actor is seen riding at high speed in a reckless manner, without wearing a helmet—an open violation of traffic regulations.
Given the seriousness of the matter, the district police have handed over the investigation to the DSP Headquarters, Keylong. Authorities have stated that if the video is verified and the violation confirmed, appropriate legal action will be taken in accordance with the law.
The Lahaul-Spiti Police have also issued a public appeal, urging both tourists and local residents to strictly adhere to traffic rules. They emphasized that responsible and disciplined behavior is crucial—especially in a region as sensitive and ecologically fragile as Lahaul—for ensuring a safe and enjoyable journey for all.
