Kelang, February 25: The much awaited Snow Festival of Lahaul Spiti tribal district was inaugurated with great fanfare from Kewang village of Gondhla Gram Panchayat in Chandra Valley. The Yeti Utsav scheduled for this year is to promote regional culture and scenic beauty and was aimed at attracting tourists from across the globe. The festival is expected to add value to the visibility of the district on the global tourist map — an interplay of traditional celebrations, local customs, and new activities.

The Snow Festival will be held for one-and-a-half months, with cultural-artistic and recreational events to promote the rich culture of Lahaul Spiti district. However, the festival is one of the opportunities to maintain the traditional character of the region, as well as tourism development, which is expected at the same time as domestic and foreign tourists the order is come and visit.
